What's new in Cinnamon
Woods?
May 2006 CWOA Newsletter
I hope this letter finds us all well. We would like to mention
a few things going on right now. Marley Drive was torn up
somewhat by installing of Bellsouth DSL Cable line. They
have brought in mulch and are to repave sections of pavement
messed up. We as an association own Marley Drive now so this
is important. I am trying to find out if they plan on digging
through the neighborhood with the ditch-witch. I have a hard
time imagining pavement being torn up through the entire
neighborhood like that. I feel if this is the case, we demand
they dig the ditches by hand, but I feel we should not allow
them to tear up our pavement even if they patch it well afterwards.
Please post your thoughts on our website www.cwoa.net.
We are doing well financially. The latest financial statement
is on the website. The halting of a paid bookkeeper and a
landscaper on contract is a huge savings. Our new system
is doing well. A few kinks are still to be worked out, but
overall it is good. Please pay dues promptly and if possible
in a yearly payment. This again keeps cost down and saves
all of our money.
Remember our annual meeting is in September. Anyone wishing
to serve on the board should let it be known a.s.a.p. Fresh
members are encouraged.
The still constant complaints are loud and loose running
dogs, speeding, and parking. Please review our adopted rules
and regulations and comply with them. It is amazing to me that
some people after all the complaints, discussion etc., will
still allow large aggressive dogs to roam free through the
neighborhood. Also, due to the speeding it is being asked
we address the speed bump issue again in the September meeting.
Please attend.
The above paragraph brings me to the final topic of this
newsletter. The members at the annual meeting last year said
we all wanted some sort of enforcement policy for some of
these rules. Since they are a list we adopted by a vote of
the community, we can also finally adopt which ones we want
to enforce by some manner be it fines or otherwise. We feel
that a guideline should be prepared for review by mailing,
and possibly vote on by the membership at the annual meeting.
We also feel this guideline should be prepared by a resident
committee, not by this or any board. It should be done by
the residents for the residents. Say a five member committee,
maybe more? The decision is in your hands. Someone must step
up, offer to head the committee, get additional members from
all parts of the neighborhood, not just one street. And present
a guideline to the board for review and presentation to the
membership. There are a lot of other details, but this is
the first step. If this is not completed we won’t
get off the ground with it. So call, write in, or send an
e-mail to get this started.
Thanks and have a great summer!
